Community Gatherings to Affirm our Values after Charlottesville – 8/29 at Temple Isaiah
August 29, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
| FreeWith the events of Charlottesville etched into our minds and news of rallies coming to Berkeley, San Francisco, and Mountain View, we want to provide you with an update on how our Jewish community is responding.
We are planning two interfaith gatherings which will give us the opportunity to join together with members of our greater East Bay community to stand against anti-Semitism, racism, and hate.
Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00 pm
Temple Isaiah
945 Risa Road, Lafayette
We join with federal and local officials and the leadership of the San Francisco Jewish Federation to strongly suggest resisting the urge to engage in counter protests that may serve to escalate the situation and could place members of our community in harm’s way.
The safety and security of our community members and institutions are of paramount concern to us all, and we will continue to keep you apprised of further updates. If you have questions, please contact Judith Markowitz at judith@jfed.org or 510-809-4901.
In Solidarity,
