Dear Interfaith Friends and Co-Religionists,

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States has recently informed us that for the past year and a half, the government of Iran has made changes and increased activities that continue to persecute Bahá’ís and other religious minorities. These include enacting laws that make it easy to prosecute unrecognized religious minorities, spreading state-sponsored hate propaganda, seizing real property, facing Iran’s criminal justice system alone without any legal representatives, and excluding them from public sector employment or attending universities.

In response, the National Spiritual Assembly is requesting that on Tuesday, May 17th, we join in a “call-in” campaign and call the Washington D.C. offices of our senators and representative for the district that we live in and request that they co-sponsor new, pending congressional resolutions condemning this persecution. Thus far, none of our congressional representatives have signed on as co-sponsors.

For the Senate, please call Senators Dianne Feinstein at (202) 224-3841 and Alex Padilla at (202) 224-3553, asking that they co-sponsor Senate Resolution 183 (S.Res.183).

For the House of Representatives, please locate your representative here: https://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep?ZIP=92832&x=15&y=10 and ask that she/he co-sponsor House Resolution 744 (H.Res.744).

Thank you for you support,

Amelia
