“That I Was Blessed And Could Bless”: New Year’s Retreat

Presented by Fr. Rusty Shaughnessy, OFM and Br. Sam Nasada, OFM

On this special New Year’s retreat, we will bring closure to 2017 as well as ask God’s Blessings upon 2018. What is a Blessing? A Blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal and strengthen. When a blessing is invoked, a window opens in eternal time. This is where blessing invokes and awakens every gift the crossing has to offer.

W.B. Yeats short poem expresses this well:

“I sat, a solitary man,

In a crowded London shop,

An open book and empty cup

On the marble table top.

While on the shop and street I gazed

My body of a sudden blazed;

And twenty minutes more or less

It seemed, so great my happiness,

That I was blessed and could bless.”

As a special part of this retreat, we will celebrate Mass ending at Midnight New Years Eve with festive champagne, wine, hor’dorvres, a fire pit, and more.
