SACRED PEOPLE, SACRED EARTH:  DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION – Rally and Procession

The world needs a compassionate, just response to COVID-19 and climate change, and people of faith need to lead the way.

You are invited to join our global launch on 11 March 2021!

We are faith communities in the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County, and across California and the world in the GreenFaith.org global network.

What you can do as a faith institution:

• Sound the alarm at your faith institution. Get a commitment from your church to ring the bells, blow the shofar at your synagogue, sound the gong, or call to prayer at 12pm noon on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
• Sign and share the statement
• Sign on as a co-sponsor of org
• Display the Sacred People, Sacred Earth banner at your place of worship in 2021

Join us at 12 noon on Thursday, March 11, 2021

• Bring your signs* and bells to Civic and Broadway in Walnut Creek
• Watch our video at https://www.facebook.com/ICANCCC
• At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Walnut Creek the bell in our historic chapel will toll 11 times, signifying that we are at the eleventh hour to save our planet.
• We will process with our banner and signs to City Hall, sing together, and have people of different faiths leading chants, songs, or prayers.
• Post photos and video on social media with hashtags

#SacredPeopleSacredEarth and #FaithsUnited4ClimateJustice

• Masks are required, and we will maintain social distance for a safe gathering.
