On Sunday, June 2nd, 2019, Miles Hall who lived with a well documented mental illness was brutally killed by two Walnut Creek Police Officers. This happened despite his proactive mother, Taun Hall alerting the dispatcher a day before her son was likely in a decompensated state and may require a police intervention. Taun Hall had done all the right things, taking the NAMI CC Family to Family Course to better understand the challenges she may face, partnering with Walnut Creek PD to ensure they were aware when her son was displaying symptoms of psychosis.
We all want Justice For Miles, so we are demanding Walnut Creek Decision Makers take the officers who shot Miles, and returned back to work in less than 2 weeks off the street until there is a full investigation.  We would like Faith Leaders/Clergy who understand the importance of not criminalizing those living with mental illness, a medical condition, to join us in this effort on Tuesday, Feb. 4th at 6:00 pm.
