The heroes in “The Story of Plastic” are working on the problem across all fronts, from petrochemicals, to ocean pollution, to zero waste

About this Event

Please join Interfaith Climate Action Network of Contra Costa County and 350 Contra Costa for a screening and conversation about the plastics crisis, its relationship to the climate crisis, what’s happening in California and empowering ways to take action and make a difference.

In this unprecedented moment, voices of activists and marginalized communities must be heard to stand up to big oil and businesses perpetuating the plastic crisis.

The Story of Plastic takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it. We hope The Story of Stuff’s new film The Story of Plastic serves as a tool to foster connection, spark dialogue, and create action.

Once you RSVP, we will send you a screening link and video conference link, as well as ways to get involved in the global movement and ban plastics for good.

Here’s how it works:

1. RSVP here.

2. Attendees will receive a link to stream the film 48-72 hours before the June 22nd event start time. The link will be delivered to you at the email address you use to RSVP here.  Please watch the film and be ready to discuss it on June 22nd at 4 pm below.

3. On June 22nd, we will reconvene at 4 p.m. on Zoom for a panel discussion; you will receive a separate link for that event alongside the streaming link.
