Vigil for Sexual Violence Survivors & Those Who Love Them

Wednesday, October 10th at 7:30 pm
Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church
55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek, CA

Members of every faith community have experienced sexual violence, whether they come forward to share their stories or not. The Interfaith Council of CCC and Mt. Diablo UU Church join with faith leaders of many traditions to create a space for the hearing and healing of those who   have known such violence as well as their families and friends.

There will be Interfaith prayers,  silence and the sharing of experiences.  Please  come and bear witness that we support those who have survived sexual violence.  Bring a flower to share if you can — and if you are coming from   work or other obligations, just bring yourself.   Please also invite your friends and neighbors       who could benefit from a healing space.

Loving God,
We turn to You for Your care and safety, healing and forgiveness.
We stand in Your Light asking for all of us to be well tended.
We offer up prayers for those who are hurting, angry, scared or numb,
including those in our households and ourselves.
We ask for the goodness in our community,
the loving kindness You have instilled within us, to rise.
May we practice the ways of truth and healing,
showing great compassion for those who are suffering.
In the name of all that is holy, AMEN.
