Can you feel the excitement and anxiety about social change that is happening all around us?
Perhaps the racial justice protests have left you feeling unsettled and wanting to better understand yourself and others around issues of race. Perhaps you are curious about the term “white fragility?”
Please join Unity friends in a book study of Robin DiAngelo’s increasingly popular book White Fragility: Why It’s so Hard for White People to Talk About Racism. Led by co-facilitators Joanne Cosmos Finn, Carl Janson, Paula Schiff and Veronica Wolfe, of Unity of Walnut Creek, this group aims to create a loving space to witness each other while we process and learn.
As Robin DiAngelo says, “For well intentioned white people doing anti-racist and social justice work, the first meaningful step is to recognize their fragility around racial issues, and build their emotional stamina.”
The book will be available for purchase in the Unity of Walnut Creek bookstore around the first class date. If you have any questions or would like to to pre-purchase your copy, please contact our bookstore managers to make an appointment for pick up:
